DJI Phantom 1 GPS Quadcopter
DJI`s Phantom quadcopter is an industry leading multirotor helicopter which when release on the market paved the way in ready to fly RTF drones. The lastes version now supporting new motors with self tightening props and the very latest Naza V2 flight controller auto pilot. Other additions include a tilt control leave for compatible camera gimbals & now compatible with Futaba (FSSST) and Gruapner transmitters.
STYLISH AND HIGHLY INTEGRATED DESIGN
Both compact and stylish, the highly integrated design means that it is easy to carry wherever you go and be ready for action whenever you need. With the included GoPro camera mount, you can effortlessly mount a GoPro, or any other light camera models, on your Phantom and shoot footage from the air allowing you to experience the splendor of aerial photography.
Both the main construction and certain internal parameter settings are completed for you prior to delivery. The only things left for you to do is to attach the four propellers, charge the battery and plug 4 x AA batteries into the remote control unit… you’ll be ready to fly in no time.
REMOTE CONTROL UNIT
The remote control unit requires 4 x AA dry cell batteries and runs on a 2.4G ISM frequency, which means the effective control distance can be up to 300 meters (as long as the surrounding environment allows). The built in ability to ‘frequency hop’, which is of our anti-interference design, allows multiple remote controllers to work simultaneously, providing a steady reliable remote communications link.
STABLE YET AGILE PERFORMANCE MEANS EASY TO FLY
The Phantom comes equipped with the Naza-M + GPS multi-rotor auto pilot system. This in turn provides a proven level of stability which ensures a reliable flight experience with exceptional performance.
TWO FLIGHT CONTROL MODES, INCLUDING POSITION HOLD
The Phantom comes with two active flight control modes, ‘GPS Attitude’ and ‘Attitude Control’. The ‘GPS Attitude’ mode is used to keep the Phantom steady and level in flight in both altitude and distance, while the ‘Attitude Control’ mode is used for keeping the Phantom steady and level in flight but for altitude only. There is another ‘Manual Control’ option which is only accessible if you turn on the feature using the packaged software first, and is only advisable if you are an experienced RC Quad Copter pilot, you have been warned!
INTELLIGENT ORIENTATION CONTROL (IOC)
The Naza-M auto pilot system which comes equipped inside the Phantom, also provides an Intelligent Orientation Control (IOC) function. This means that the flight direction, which is usually the direction of wherever the nose points, can be controlled via the two selections of ‘Course Lock’ and ‘Home Lock’ flying. Course Lock means that ‘forward’ is taken from where the nose is pointing when the IOC is enabled, whereas Home Lock ensures that ‘forward’ remains constantly in line from Home Point to the Phantom. Disorientation is now a thing of the past.
FAILSAFE & AUTO GO HOME/LANDING
If the communications between the Controller and Transmitter are ever broken or disrupted, the Phantoms failsafe features take over and acts as if the pilot has centered both sticks. This in effect will render the Phantom hovering still awaiting further instruction. If the GPS signal is connected, the Phantom will then automatically trigger the ‘Return-To-Home’ feature, where it will fly back to its home base and land safely within a 10 meter radius… Now that’s clever!
LOW VOLTAGE PROTECTION
As part of the failsafe features within the Phantom, there is something that we like to call the Low Voltage Protection system. This means that when your battery voltage becomes low, you are first given a visual warning on the Phantom via a flashing red light. If this is not enough to alert you to the low battery voltage situation, then don’t fear… the Phantom will reach the threshold of battery life before landing automatically, awaiting you to recharge.
HIGH INTENSITY LED LIGHTS, TO AID ORIENTATION DURING FLIGHT
Plan to fly so far out that you cannot see the Phantom clearly? Not a problem with the built in high intensity LED indicators which are used for both visual location and orientation during flight.
GOPRO CAMERA MOUNT (CAMERA NOT INCLUDED)
If you want to add a camera to the Phantom to record as you fly, then that's easy with the included camera mount. Designed to work with the GoPro range of cameras, it is also possible to attach any light camera to the mount so that you can easily fly high and record from the sky. Poetic.
UP TO 15 MINUTES OF FLIGHT TIME
The Phantom package includes a 3S LiPo battery with a capacity of 2200mAh and at a weight of only 170g, coupled with a light airframe incorporating a light and compact design, means that the flying time for a fully charged battery can last from 10 to 15 minutes.
