Drone Pilot Training School

If your looking to buy your first drone or have just bought one and not sure about setting up and nervous about your first flight. We can help you through the first stages of drone ownership with our CAA qualified (PFAW) instructors who have been trained by NATS (National Air Traffic Services) to NQE standards.

Pilot training for drones

We can offer from as little as an hour to half days training on either your own craft or on our own demonstrators, the latest drones on the market including the DJI Phantom 4, DJI Inspire & Yuneec Typhoon H and Tornado H920. 

We can also help you to prepare for the flight test if your sitting your PFAW (permissions for aerial work) NQE course. The flight exam is a daunting prospect to new operators but theres no need to be nervous we can take you through mock test to prepare you for the day.

Whats available:

New Pilot Experience: Thinking of buying a drone but not sure what there like to fly or what they can do. One to one on preparing for flight and basic flying skills with you at the controls of the latest DJI Phantom camera drone.

Or if you already have a drone and a bit nervous about flying for the first time we can walk you through the necessary steps to get you in the air safely.

Pilot Progression: If you have already been flying your drone and want to take your skills to the next level we can talk you through the more advanced flight mode features such as Way Points, Point of Interest and Flight Track. We will also cover compass and IMU calibration.

PFAW Pilot: For those that are booked on for a PFAW course and require flight training we can take you through the flying schedule required to pass the flying side of your coarse so you are fully prepared on the day of your test.

Course duration from an hour to a half day. Price depending on the use of your own or our drones.

Commercial Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) course supplied by NATS

The NATS Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) course (UK Module), is designed to instruct operators to a level which will satisfy the safety and operational requirements outlined by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

This course covers many topics, including;

  • The principles of flight
  • RPAS best practices
  • Human Factors
