Get ready for some large scale bashing with the new Punisher 1/5th 4wd buggy from FTX. The Punisher brings the performance of a 4wd chassis, 2.4ghz radio and a price associated with a 2wd model for a package that is hard to beat.
In an effort to improve handling and driveability the Punisher has targeted areas often overlooked from rival entry level 1/5th chassis. Many 1/5th have a high CG and are cumbersome in their performance. The Punisher features a low centre of gravity, starting with a 700cc high capacity fuel tank having the weight spread across the chassis and over the centre drivetrain. Radio and battery boxes sit snugly infront of the tilted engine and the high torque jumbo size steering servo sits flat on the chassis.
Adjustable suspension features variable shock positions for the massive 22mm aluminium shocks, and reinforced long throw suspension arms with screw captured hinge pins, provide similar movement and action found on 1/8th and 1/10th buggies.
Precision CNC metal transmission gears provide the durability required once the 23cc petrol engine is in full flow. Differentials feature sealed geared units that can be further tuned with silicone oils if desired.
The Punisher comes standard with a 35° maximum steering angle lock from a CNC machined aluminium steering block. Further aluminium option parts are available to help take your Punisher to the next level.
FTX have tried to bring some style to what can be an ugly market for 1/5th chassis with the Punisher coming supplied with a choice of two custom pre-painted bodyshells. The internal roll cage adds added strength and protection resulting in the Punisher looking just as good with the body on or off.
So if you are someone who likes your models big and powerful (rc models that is) the Punisher is all for you.
